— One Day —

Due to  the fact that we are surrounded by images in The Twenty First Century, it's easy forget that there was once a time within our lifetimes that didn't have the same luxury. Photo's were stored in albums and treasured, additionally,  loved ones were committed to memory.  My mother only had single family photo with her father . Due to the fact that I lived in London and he lived in Mepe, a small town in Ghana I had only ever met him twice. At first I didn't have a clear direction with this portrait, but I enjoyed the process of revealing the stone-like texture with each dot.

Sadly my grandfather  passed away when I was eight years old, my mother would often speak of him with such fondness smiling, she'd say , "One day I'll see him again".  Until then I have put together this portrait and it was well worth seeing the smile on her face.
